The zipper on a cycling jersey has been standard issue for a century. The Peak asks a simple question: do you actually need it? With today’s highly breathable 4-way stretch fabrics, the answer is often no. Removing the zipper eliminates a potential friction point, simplifies the silhouette, and — if aero matters to you — reduces drag.
The Peak has three rear pockets with reflective side trim, a slim collar, and elbow-length sleeves. The fit contours to the body without restricting movement. It’s the jersey to reach for when you want everything to disappear and just ride.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why no zipper?
The zipper is a friction point and a drag source. With today’s breathable 4-way stretch fabrics, you don’t need one to regulate temperature.
How do I get it on?
Pulls on over the head — the fabric stretches enough to make this easy, and the slim collar sits cleanly once on.
Is this good for hot weather?
Yes. The 4-way stretch fabric is highly breathable. Three rear pockets for essentials.
How does sizing run?
True to size, close fit. See the fit guide for measurements.

The Evo bibshorts are the natural evolution of our endurance cargo bibs, shaped by the lessons learned across the Canopic range and the feedback of real riders. The result is a hybrid that takes the race-oriented fit and slim strap of the Canopic Race and combines it with the storage and coverage of the Canopic Original — then improves both.
New premium fabric delivers a better balance of softness, stretch, breathability, and durability. The Montu Endurance Pro chamois is rated for 7+ hours and the single ultralight mesh strap is airy enough to wear under any jersey without bunching. Two large cargo pockets handle the day’s essentials without needing rear jersey pockets.
The Mk2 runs true to size — a meaningful update from the Mk1, which ran small.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What’s the difference between the Canopic Evo and the Canopic Race?
The Race has a shorter inseam and slimmer 50mm straps for a more performance-oriented feel. The Evo has a just-above-the-knee inseam and a one-piece mesh bib strap for more coverage and a slightly more relaxed endurance fit. Both use the same Montu Endurance Pro chamois and have cargo thigh pockets.
Will my phone fit in the pockets?
Yes — the thigh pockets on all Montu cargo bibs are sized specifically to fit a full-size smartphone, and the design keeps them secure even on rough gravel roads.
How long can I ride in these?
The Montu Endurance Pro chamois is rated for 7+ hours in the saddle. Details on the chamois page.
How does sizing work?
True to size. See the fit guide for full measurements. Model is 5’9″, 165 lbs, wears a Medium.
Are these good for gravel riding?
Yes. The thigh pockets, longer inseam, and endurance chamois make the Evo a strong choice for long gravel days where you want to carry your own gear and stay comfortable for hours.
The Urai is a technical button-up designed for the overlap between riding and everything else — the café, the commute, the post-ride errands where you don’t want to look like you just rolled off a trail. Stretch fabric moves with you, breathable enough to ride in, and clean enough to wear anywhere.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this a cycling jersey?
Not technically — the Urai is a cycling-lifestyle button-up for the café ride, post-ride lunch, or urban riding where you want to look presentable.
Can I actually ride in it?
Yes — the fabric has enough stretch and breathability for casual riding.

The Canopic 4-Pocket Mk2 is for riders who want to leave the jersey pockets free. Four large cargo pockets — two on the legs, two at the rear — carry everything you need for a big day: phone, tools, food, packable layer. The Montu Endurance Pro chamois is rated for 8+ hours and the one-piece mesh bib strap is light enough you’ll forget it’s there.
The Mk2 brings upgraded fabric with a better balance of softness, stretch, and breathability, along with refined tailoring for a more contoured fit. The just-above-the-knee inseam is longer than the Canopic Race for more coverage and less friction on long efforts.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes the 4-Pocket different from the other Canopic bibs?
The 4-Pocket has two thigh pockets AND two rear pockets — giving you the most carrying capacity in the Canopic lineup. The Canopic Race and Evo have two thigh pockets only. The 4-Pocket also has the longest chamois rating (8+ hours) of the three.
Will a phone fit in the thigh pockets?
Yes — full-size smartphone fits securely in each thigh pocket. The rear pockets are sized for gels, a small packable layer, or a multi-tool.
What chamois is used?
The Montu Endurance Pro chamois, rated for 8+ hours — the longest rating in the Canopic line. See chamois details here.
How does the Mk2 differ from the original 4-Pocket?
The Mk2 has upgraded fabric — better softness, stretch, and breathability — and a more contoured cut for a refined fit. The pocket layout and chamois are the same.
How does sizing work?
Fits true to size. See the fit guide for full measurements. Model Josh is 5’8″, 156 lbs, wears a Small.

Four Colourways: Yellow Tie Dye, Plaid, Blue Tartan and Gravel Camo (yep, that last one is totally a thing)

KEY FEATURES
Endurance Chamois
Cargo Pockets
4-Way Stretch
The Canopic Cargo Waist Short is for riders who prefer not to deal with bib straps — without giving up any of the things that make the Canopic range worth riding in. The chamois is the same long-distance endurance pad used in the Canopic Evo bibshorts. Two large leg pockets carry your phone, keys, snacks, and a mini tool. The premium fabric delivers genuine compression and stretch, and the contoured cut keeps everything in place mile after mile.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What’s the difference between these and the Canopic bibshorts?
The Cargo Waist Short uses a traditional waistband instead of bib straps — same chamois, same cargo pockets, same fabric. If you prefer not to wear bib straps, this is the Canopic for you.
What chamois is used?
The same Canopic Evo endurance chamois — built for long-distance comfort. More details on the chamois page.
Will my phone fit in the pockets?
Yes — the two large leg pockets are sized to carry a full-size smartphone securely.
Are these good for road and gravel riding?
Yes. The endurance chamois and cargo pockets make them well suited for long road or gravel days. The waistband works well for riders who find bib straps uncomfortable in warmer conditions or under certain jerseys.
How does sizing work?
True to size. See the fit guide for full measurements.
The Dark Ages of Bib Shorts (aka why cycling should ditch some of its obsession with “tradition” when it comes to cycling apparel)
Let’s be honest, for too long, classic two-straps-and-a-chamois bibshorts have been stuck in the dark ages. They’re comfortable, sure, they keep things where they need to be, but they’re about as practical as a screen door on a submarine when it comes to carrying anything.
Cycling’s adherence to tradition can be funny. Can you imagine your classic full-zip short sleeve jersey without the 3-pocket panel on the lower back? Then all of a sudden, someone comes up with a “cargo jersey”? Sounds silly, right?
Why should bibshorts be any different?
Enter the Cargo Bib Short: A Revelation!
For those of you still stubbornly clinging to your pocket-less bibs, cargo bibs are regular bibshorts, but with one glorious addition: pockets. And we’re not talking about some dinky little coin purse. We’re talking proper, functional pockets, usually on the thighs, sometimes on the back.
Why Cargo Bibs Are Objectively Superior
Now, some purists might scoff. “Pockets on bibs? That’s not aero*! That’s not traditional!” To them, we say, have you ever tried to stuff a multi-tool, a spare tube, your phone, your wallet, your keys, and three emergency gummy bears into three tiny jersey pockets? It’s like playing a high-stakes game of Tetris while simultaneously trying to avoid getting doored by a car.
With cargo bibs: just imagine the sheer liberation!
Snack Freedom: No more awkward mid-ride contortions to reach that last gel. Your snacks are right there, within easy grab-and-munch distance. You can even bring a whole extra sandwich if you’re feeling ambitious (though we don’t recommend a full pastrami on rye in your thigh pocket – yet).
Phone Security: Your precious smartphone, safe and secure in a dedicated pocket, not precariously balanced in a jersey pocket, waiting for that one rogue bump to send it tumbling into a pothole. You can even whip it out for that perfect Instagram shot without missing a beat, or risking a faceplant. (side note: a prime design criterion for ALL of Montu’s cargo bibshorts is that leg pockets should comfortably fit a full-size smart phone)
Layer Liberation: The weather changes faster than a politician’s promises. With cargo pockets, you can easily shed a vest or arm warmers and stash them away without looking like a lumpy, overstuffed sausage.
Emergency Preparedness: Think of the possibilities! A mini first-aid kit, a tiny emergency blanket (for those truly epic bonks), or enough cash for an impromptu ice cream stop. Your cargo bibs turn you into a self-sufficient, two-wheeled MacGyver.
The “I’m Too Cool for a Backpack” Vibe: Let’s face it, sometimes you just don’t want to wear a backpack. You want to feel light and free, but still have your essentials. Cargo bibs are the ultimate stealth storage solution. You’ll be cruising along, looking effortlessly chic, while secretly carrying enough gear to survive a zombie apocalypse.
Fashion Forward (No, Really): Okay, so they might not be gracing the runways of Paris Fashion Week, but modern cargo bibs are sleek and well-designed. The pockets are integrated seamlessly, so you won’t look like you’re smuggling a small animal in your pants. Plus, the confidence of knowing you have everything you need on hand? That’s the ultimate accessory.
The Montu Mandate: Cargo for All!
At Montu, we believe cycling should be about enjoying the ride, not wrestling with your gear. That’s why we’re championing the cargo bibshort. Pockets on the classic bibshorts is fundamental improvement to the cycling experience. It’s about practicality, convenience, and a healthy dose of “why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?!”
So, the next time you’re in the market for new bib shorts, do yourself a favor. Embrace the revolution. Join the ranks of the enlightened. Choose cargo. Your snacks will thank you. Your phone will thank you. And honestly, your inner peace will thank you.
*The exception to the rule is bibs designed for time trials or ultimate aero gains.

The women’s-specific contoured cut delivers a flattering fit, and the high-stretch compression fabric keeps everything in place through long rides.
