Description
The Duro Cypher is a perfect tire for those mixed-terrain rides where you know you’ll be spending more time on dirt and loose gravel than smooth tarmac, but still want a fast-rolling tire on those (often long) stretches of road between the dirt and gravel. We offer the 700C version in what we believe is one of the “sweet spot” widths for this kind of riding: 40C (we also have the 27.5×2.1 version).
The center tread is composed of well-spaced rows of three round lugs. This makes it a fast roller on smooth terrain, but ready to bite in as soon as road conditions call for more traction. Those center lugs grip tenaciously on loose gravel climbs without hindering speed on paved roads. The tire is also very quiet on asphalt. The more densely packed and connected corner knobs inspire confidence for cornering on loose terrain.
This is the tire that comes on the Montu Kopis stock build. We were asked if we can offer this tire for sale and we decided to put a limited number up on the site.
P.S. We’ll let you in on a little secret: this same tire is sold in Europe under a different name at nearly double the price.
